American Express has launched a new cashback deal in association with eBay.

As usual, it is a targetted offer so you need to check all of your cards individually, on your statement page online or in the app, and click ‘Save to Card’ to register.

You will receive £5 back when you spend £15+ at eBay by 31st December.

£5 back on a £15 eBay purchase with American Express

Cumulative transactions count – you don’t need to spend £15 in one go. The £15 can include postage because the cashback is driven by the total amount charged to your credit card.

Note that “Orders must originate from, and ship to, a UK location.”

If your eBay account is set up to pay via PayPal, remember that using Amex via PayPal won’t trigger the cashback. You need to pay directly with your registered American Express card.

Remember that you also earn 1 Nectar point for every £1 you spend at eBay. You can link your Nectar and eBay accounts via this page of the eBay website.

If you’re looking for something buy, I’ve found that eBay is surprisingly good for buying books these days. You can often find sellers who undercut Amazon, and many of the sellers have over 100,000 positive reviews (over 10 in some cases – I saw one with 9m).

The eBay home page is here.
