Air Canada increases its flights to the UK

  It’s just a shame that Air Canada have not reinstated the daytime flight from Toronto – London with the addition of their 4th flight per day like it was pre COVID.

  I really do hate night flights and the daytime flight means no you can work on the plane (or relax), then go home and get into bed!

    You can still connect from Toronto to their Halifax daytime service which leaves at 11:00ish and gets into Heathrow around 21:00.

    It might even be the only 737Max8 on a non-stop transatlantic.

      Yes but they price that non-direct daytime flight at a premium compared to the direct flights – and I believe it’s not real long haul business class on the Max aircraft either…

      I’m pretty sure WestJet flies the same 737Max8 from Halifax, but they only go to Gatwick, now. However, AC has no business class from Halifax, so I don’t see the chance for doing any work!
      When I was regularly flying Halifax-London, I preferred the overnight flight. I’d be arriving on one of the first flights of the morning at LHR, and immigration was a breeze. The 9pm arrival makes it difficult to catch a train to Plymouth, so it’s National Express 🙁

        I think WestJet now only serve Calgary from London?

        And the AC flight has US style domestic First seats up front, which the website suggests should be sold as PE fares, but for the few dates I looked at they were sold out??

  Should i be worried booking a virgin flights on KLM if there are any delays issues? I’ve heard horror stories that virgin / KLM will just tell you to contact other airline and neither helpful.

  Obviously if no delays seems great, but just wondering if on the off chance something goes wrong is it worth the cash saving.

    Can be an issue on redemptions to anywhere except the US but the transatlantic JV means that it is all the same legal entity running VS, AF and KLM transatlantic.

      I think they pool revenue, yes, but it’s surely not the same legal entity running these flights?

        It’s not, but if they’re anything like BA/AA, customer benefits are an enormous part of the case they put before competition authorities to secure approval to share revenue. One of the elements to this is enhanced customer protection in disruption.

  The KLM offer – is it cumulative or one transaction only?

  Asking because I’m booking for two and the total cost is over £1000, however knowing KLM it will hit the statement as two charges
